Overview
FAR 53.110 establishes the standard procedures for extending information beyond the space provided on standard forms through the use of supplemental pages or specialized continuation sheets.
Key Rules
- Permissible Media: Information may be continued on plain paper of similar specifications to the original form or on specially constructed continuation sheets, such as Optional Form (OF) 336.
- Mandatory Annotations: Every continuation sheet must feature the reference number of the base document and the sequential (serial) page number.
- Placement of Metadata: Required document reference and page numbers must be placed specifically in the upper right-hand corner of the sheet.
- Applicability: These rules apply to all FAR-prescribed standard forms unless a specific section of the FAR dictates an alternative method.
Practical Implications
- Ensures that voluminous data—such as extensive Statements of Work (SOW) or detailed pricing schedules—remains legally and administratively linked to the primary contract or solicitation document.
- Provides administrative flexibility for Contracting Officers to use standard office paper while maintaining document integrity through standardized header requirements.
